Meet AaronGrowing up with my family in a small, southern town, music was all around me. I was drawn to it. As I became older, I took music lessons and noticed that I was also interested in the helping professions, such as therapy and counseling. I decided to study music therapy and community counseling as a way to blend both of my passions in life, which has brought me to my work as a music therapist for Music Journey, LLC.
My Training & CredentialsI am a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC), Fellow of the Association for Music & Imagery (FAMI), Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), Registered Expressive Arts Therapist (REAT), and Licensed Professional Counseling (LPC). I received my music therapy, expressive arts therapy, and counseling training at Appalachian State University. I completed training in The Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music with Kenneth Bruscia in 2009, having begun training in 2003 with Roseann Kasyaka and Cathy McKinney. Currently, I work as a music therapist in local hospitals in palliative care and for Music Journey, LLC. I have served as adjunct faculty for the music therapy programs at Duquesne University and Applachian State University.

Meet NicoleI found music therapy as I was launching into my music studies in college, and it was as if I found my home--my true center. Witnessing the health promoting benefits of music in different places for different people has been an amazing privilege. As I was advancing my music therapy studies, I was drawn to social justice issues and ways in which music therapy can empower others, especially women survivors, which is now the focus of my current work.
My Training & CredentialsI am a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) and have a Ph.D. in Expressive Therapies from Lesley University. Additionally, I am a Fellow of the Association for Music & Imagery (FAMI) and trained with the Mid-Atlantic Institute with Jim Borling, Carol Bush, and Sierra Stokes-Stearns. I currently teach music therapy and practice at Music Journey, providing GIM and supervision for music therapists and GIM students. Currently I Coordinate the Undergraduate Music Therapy Program at Slippery Rock University and work as a music therapist for Music Journey, LLC.
